Stress relief for young professionals

Hello! .... I work heavy nights and am in direct contact with clients who are offshore while I manage different teams who are offsite (remotely)... The varying demands can be so physically and emotionally draining that wanting to escape is a no-brainer.... Except that a real vacation far from it all can drain one's pockets. And we all know how utterly foolish that can be these days when there's so much strain on the economy. Suggestions?

Thanks,
Drained and Vacation-ready

Stress has become more real for most of us in today’s modern living.  Many facets of life demand so much time and attention that leave us tired and irritable.  On the other hand, stress comes with the challenges of life that give us opportunities to grow and learn from our experiences.  The key, however, would be how one manages stress or find ways to balance our lives so we can face each day with bright smiles on our faces.  I have lined up here some stress-busters that may help Ms. Drained and Vacation-ready and the rest of you who are living a very stressful life.

First of all, review your life and find the balance between work, friends, family and yourself.  One source of stress can be when one aspect is given more attention than it truly deserves over the others.  As a result, we are overwhelmed and never really happy about ourselves.  Give this some thought and try to balance your life.

Second, find happiness with what you have.  The adage “stop and smell the roses” is never really outdated.  No matter how you look at it, you are always better off than others.  It is not about being happy with the misery of others but focusing on the positives and appreciating it in the process.  If you really find it hard to find something good about you and your life, ask a friend you really trust and let him/her provide the answers.

Third, move your body.  There is nothing like physical activities to relieve one’s stress.  By taking care of yourself and exercising, you not only reap emotional rewards but a sharper mind and healthy body, too.  Find the activity that works for you.  It could be an aerobic exercise, strength training, dancing or yoga.  These activities can raise your heart beat in a good way.

Fourth, take up a hobby that can take your mind off things.  Sometimes, doing the same thing day in and day out can leave us stressed.  Follow your interests and rediscover your passion.  You can pick up hobbies from friends but it is really up to you to choose the one thing that could make you happy.

Fifth, pamper yourself.  Step into the Zen Institute and choose from the many treatments that can help you relax and unwind.  We have de-stressing massages with aromatherapy that is so calming you would want to go straight to bed and sleep.  For facials, there are pampering facial, cleansing facial and diamond peel.  These treatments are not only great for the skin but also relaxing to the senses.  For body therapy services, we have salt glo, mud mask, seaweed mask and whitening mask.  Avail of these services and feel rejuvenated because you did something for yourself.  Taking care of yourself puts you in a better position to take care of other people and other facets of life.
